Rafting Program For Annual Dinner

       Gary Gilmore of Luthersburg will be the guest speaker for the DuBois Area Historical Society’s 24 th Annual Dinner, Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m., at the Brady Township Municipal Building in Luthersburg. The annual person of the year awards will be presented during the evening.

       The featured entrees are chicken and ham, The cost for the meal is $15. Reservations are due by October 3. Reservations, including name, address, and entrée preferences may be sent along with a check payable to the DuBois Area Historical Society to: DuBois Area Historical Society, P.O.        Gilmore will speak about and show slides of his experiences last year helping to construct and travel on the Clearfield County Bicentennial Raft. Gilmore works for the Department of Conservation/Natural Resource office in Brookville and has made some well-received presentations to the Society in the past.

       The DuBois Area Historical Society opened its 2005-06 year in September with a dual presentation by Sam Bundy and his son, Joshua Bundy. They related past and current experiences working in DuBois radio.

Robert Henry, “Early American Pattern Glass,” to be held at the Falls Creek Presbyterian Church; May – Galen Kilmer, “DuBois Area High School Local History Projects.” All are free, at 7:30 p.m. in the E.D. Reitz Museum, 30 W. Long Ave., DuBois, unless otherwise indicated.
