2017 Calendar of Events

February 7 – Society Historian Todd Thompson will be the guest speaker at the Bennetts Valley Senior Center, Weedville, 11 a.m. Topic: DuBois’ Great Fire.

February 21 – Dining for a cause at Ft. Worth Restaurant, DuBois (a percentage of the days’ profits will be donated to the Society), 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

February 23 – 3rd Annual Night At the Museum for young people, 6:30 p.m

March 7 – Society President Ruth Gregori will be the guest speaker at the Bennetts Valley Senior Center, Weedville, 11 a.m. Women's History Month topic, "Prominent Women of the Area."

March 18 – 10th Annual Luncheon, guest speaker Marianne Fyda, noon, Christ Lutheran Church, DuBois. Cost $10 for Subway sandwich, soup, salad, and dessert. Print a reservation form here.

April 19 -- Guest speaker, Dick Castonguay, “The Victorian Internet,” E. D. Reitz Museum, 7 p.m.

April 23 – Dining for a cause at Luigi’s Ristorante (a percentage of the days profits will be donated to the Society), 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

May 13 – 10th Annual Spring Walk, CCC Trail, Parker Dam State Park, 10 a.m.

May 17 – Dining for a cause at Italian Oven, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Vouchers may be obtained from board members or printed here.

June 3 – DuBois Art Walk on the Block, museum open, details to be announced.

August 4-5 – Buffalo and Susquehanna Railroad Convention, sponsored by the DuBois Area Historical Society, Registration form available here.

September 14 – 35th Annual Dinner, "An Evening With Melville Post," 6 p.m., Christ Lutheran Church, Sunflower Drive, DuBois. Dinner menu:  stuffed chicken breast, roast beet, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans almondine, cabbage and noodles, salad, dessert, coffee, punch. Cost and registration form at a later date.

October 7 – 10th Annual Spirit of DuBois Lantern Walk, “The Spirit of the DuBois Family,” Penn State DuBois Campus, first tour at 5:30 p.m. Further details to be announced.

October 11 – Dining for a cause at Italian Oven, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Vouchers may be obtained from board members or printed here.

November -- Date to be announced. Guest speaker Gene Samanka talking about his military career, E. D. Retiz Museum, 7 p.m.
