Krach To Speak About First Airport, April 29

April 21, 2015 at 8:36 PM

DuBois native Clarence Krach will present his recollections of DuBois’ first airport when he provides the program for the DuBois Area Historical Society’s meeting, Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. The program at the DuBois Area Historical Society museum is free and open to the public.

Krach, a DuBois High School graduate, has a long interest in aviation, dating back to his time as a young boy. He can be seen in the photograph of the last air mail pickup in DuBois, where a plane did not land but snagged mail bags while in flight.

Those mail pickups and other early aviation activities took place at Spider Lake. Krach will provide the story of the airport and its development.
