Carey Huber, park naturalist, Parker Dam State Park, will be the guest speaker for the closing program of 2013 for the DuBois Area Historical Society. Huber will present “Woodsmen and River Drivers” on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m., at the E. D. Reitz Museum, 28-34 W. Long Ave., DuBois. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Huber’s program concerns the lumbering activities in the DuBois area. “They were a different caliber of men from an era that has gone by,” he said. “However, their story is the story of Parker Dam's early history. I will talk about their life while they were doing one of the most dangerous jobs of the time."

The program will include a video presentation. Huber plans on displaying some lumbering tools from the lumbering time period.
