Historical Calendar 2015: Lumbering, Recalling Our First Industry

          The 2015 DuBois Area Historical Society Calendar is now available for purchase. The Society’s eighth calendar costs $5 and has as its theme: “Recalling Our First Industry:  Lumbering”.

            The calendar features photos of this area’s first industry lumbering, including descriptions explaining the taking of the tree to its many uses at the lumber mills and tanneries. Areas featured include:  DuBois, Luthersburg, Falls Creek, Rockton, Treasure Lake, and Penfield.

            Sponsors for the calendar include:  Blue Dolphin Painting, DuBois Area Catholic Schools, DuBois Business College, Hallstrom-Clark Electric Inc., Hayes Lubrication, Jim’s Custom and Collision, Kiwanis Club of DuBois, Pro Vision Center, Peaceable Kingdom, Tim Britton Construction Service Inc., Treasure Lake, and Willar’s Market.

            Calendars are available at the DuBois Area Historical Society, 28-34 W. Long Ave., DuBois, and at Curves, Kohlhepp’s True Value, Peaceable Kingdom, Rosie’s Book Shoppe, and Way Office Supply, all in DuBois; and Willar’s Market in Falls Creek.
