Luigi's Fundraiser Successful

            Luigi’s Ristorante hosted a successful “Dining for a Cause” for the DuBois Area Historical Society on Sunday, April 14. Luigi’s donated a percentage of the day’s profits presenting a check for $312 to the DuBois Area Historical Society.

            The total earnings for the day swelled to $511 with the sale of $165 in tickets for a Basket Auction and $34 in sales of historical society books and souvenirs.

            Society members manned an information desk and sold tickets for the Basket Auction from noon to 8 p.m. Volunteering were Ruth Gregori, Carol Laughlin, Carolyn Rhoades, Gene Aravich, Jean Hayes, Jeanne Hayes, Galen and Laura Kilmer, Beecher Klingensmith, Tom and Bridget Rubritz, Jerry Watson, and Tom and Ginny Schott. Two DuBois Area High School students, Veronica Alicea and Gerry Titarenko also volunteered to help.

            Sixteen donated items (some made anonymously) were available for the Basket Auction. Included were:  Peaceable Kingdom Basket donated by Gene Fyda, Notecards and Necklace donated by Marianne Fyda, Steeler Basket #1 donated by Beecher Klingensmith, Steeler Basket #2 donated by Ruth and Louie Gregori, Steeler Basket #3 donated by Beecher Klingensmith and Ruth Gregori, Car Care Bucket donated by Carol Laughlin, Firstaid Kit/Camp Chair donated by Denny Laughlin, Candle Basket donated by Linda Riccadonna, coffee maker donated by a friend, insulated picnic basket donated by friends, cutting boards donated by George and Mary Reilly, four Valley Rainbow Gift Certificates donated by Mary Anne Swisher, and a Titanic Anniversary Necklace donated by Ken Williams.
