B & S Railroad Enthusiasts to Meet at Society

      A meeting of railroad enthusiasts will be held on Sunday June 12 at 1 p.m. at the DuBois Area Historical Society located at 30 W. Long Ave in DuBois. They are especially interested in the Buffalo & Susquehanna Railroad’s Southern Extension from Sinnemahoning, Pa., to Sagamore , Pa.

      The Buffalo & Susquehanna Railroad was the coal carrier for the Cascade Coal & Coke Company’s area mines at DuBois Shafts No. 1 and No. 2, Tyler and Sykesville. Plans will be discussed for a tentative 2- day symposium featuring programs about the history and operations of the B&S Railroad.
