art_walk_2.jpg            Over 150 visitors entered the DuBois Area Historical Society’s E. D. Reitz Museum during Art Walk on the Block on June 4. The Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group and the DuBois Area Council on the Arts sponsor Art Walk on the Block.

Serving as guest artists at the museum were Viviana Forrest (left, shown with a young artist) and Aaron DeWyer from the DuBois Business College (DBC). They led art projects for the children in attendance. The children’s activities took place in the museum’s room where the works of Luthersburg artist Richard Burfoot (1866-1939) are exhibited.

Carolyn Rhoades, faculty member and board of directors member at DBC and director of youth for the historical society, arranged the DBC students’ participation.

In addition to hosting the artists and opening the museum for the public, the historical society was also a stopping point for the geo-caching competition held in conjunction with Art Walk on the Block.
