Two outstanding programs opened the DuBois Area Historical Society’s 30th Anniversary Year.

In April, Galen Kilmer, local history teacher at DuBois Area High School, presented his annual program “DuBois Area High School Local History Projects”. In his program, Kilmer highlights the best of the projects completed by his students while learning about local history.

May found approximately 45 members and guests gathering at Rumbarger Cemetery for the Society’s Fourth Annual Spring Walk. Paul Sprague of the Rumbarger Cemetery Preservation Society led the walk through DuBois’s oldest cemetery highlighting the sites history and providing stories about individuals interred there. Providing extra commentary was Rumbarger Cemetery Preservation Society member Mal Morris in full Civil War uniform.
